A pretty quilt for my little monkey

by Shani on December 14, 2010

With Christmas less than 2 weeks away, I’ve been frantically cutting, sewing, pressing, cutting, sewing, pressing. I spent Sunday evening hand binding Olivia’s quilt. Now my lovely brown and pink work of art is complete!

I chose the the brown and pink print from my collection of “scraps”. It goes perfectly with the cherry tree/blossom wall decal in the nursery.

This pattern is made up entirely of half square triangles. The quilt needs to be pressed a bit better!

Gosh, let me tell you…it was super hard finding fabric that compliments the odd shades of pink and brown of the quilt top. This was the best match I could find at the fabric store. It turned out fine but I can see why people like to purchase fabrics from coordinating lines.

And one last shot, a close up…

So, Madeline’s black and white quilt is done. Olivia’s brown and pink quilt is complete. That just leaves the dress up closet/puppet theatre and some Christmas baking…

Happy Quilting/Crafting/Woodworking/Baking to you all!

Thanks Ange! I think she will like the quilt. I brought her downstairs after her nap. She saw the quilt, gasped and said something like, “it’s finished!”. I can show you my quilts on Sunday before you leave:-)
