Work in progress: Kiana’s Quilt

by Shani on March 17, 2011

It’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m getting into the spirit of things by quilting. Are you thinking emerald green and shamrock appliques? I hope not because that’s a little too granny for me. There’s nothing really St. Patrick’s Day about my quilt except for the pattern which happens to be “Irish”.

The single Irish Chain is a simple and easy pattern so it makes for a great beginner’s quilting project. Basically the pattern is made up by alternating a 6 inch solid and print nine patch with a plain 6 solid square (same color as the solid in the nine patch).

This quilt is a still a work in progress. It is one of the six quilts I plan on completing this year. Am I crazy? Just a tiny bit I think.

Can’t wait to show you the finished project!
