“Mommy it’s Stinky”

by Shani

The oh so honest and very blunt words of a two year old. My little darling was referring to the fact that for two days, our kitchen smelled like a garlicky pasta house. This is the reason why - Homemade Meatballs with Roasted Tomato and Garlic sauce served over “fettuccine”.

Why did I write fettuccine in parenthesis? Because those are actually wide Farkay noodles, a popular Asian pantry staple. Fettuccine or not, this was a hearty Autumn meal.

Meatballs…good, noodles…good, roasted tomatoes and garlic….good.

If you follow my blog then you know that I already raved about the recipe by David Rocco. Basically I use his recipe as a foundation and then I add in or replace whatever I want to give the meatballs my own flair. This time I replaced the ground pork with finely grated carrot and sweet red onions.

While my lovely children said our house was stinky, we thought the meal smelled and looked pretty tantalizing. Like I said before, this recipe is a keeper.

What’ cooking in your kitchen this Wednesday?
