The count down is on!

Number 5 on the list is an Electric Kettle

Okay so it’s not the most exciting kitchen appliance but it is one that I use daily and therefore is a DIY Girl MUST have. For years we used a stove top kettle. Nothing wrong with using the stove to boil water but sometimes it can be a tad bit inconvenient. Like when you host a family get together and everyone wants a stove element to heat up food. Or when you nearly set your house on fire because you’ve forgotten to turn off your stove and your kettle has boiled to a crisp. Yeah, I think these are pretty good reasons to invest in an electric kettle.

Our Sunbeam Electric Kettle makes my Top 5 Small Kitchen Appliances list. We’ve had it for about a year and I use it several times a day. The kettle is an affordable price point and the appliance does it’s job. It boils water, you don’t really need anything fancier than that. Features include a 360 degree cordless system that allows you place the kettle anywhere on the base, 1.7L capacity with a water window, a concealed heating element and a removable water spout filter. Not bad for a price point of $39.99 (got mine on sale for $29.95). Oh and you don’t have to worry about burning the bottom of your kettle because the Sunbeam has boil dry protection!

I do have a slight knock against the Sunbeam kettle and it’s a very superficial one. I don’t like the way it looks. Apparently it’s just me because I’ve had several people comment about how they like the shape and size of my kettle. Each to their own I suppose. Other than that, I have to say that the Sunbeam Cordless Electric Kettle is definitely one of the top 5 small kitchen appliances I have invested in!
