Just another day in the life of DIY Girl
Thanks to the power of the internet, I managed to avoid disaster and salvage a sloppy attempt to cut my daughter’s hair. As I have nothing better to do (dripping with sarcasm here), I asked my 4 year old if she wanted a hair cut. It was on the long side and for some reason I thought she would look really cute with a bob.
Well, being Ms. DIY, I went ahead and plopped Madeline on the bar stool and started cutting away. I’ve cut her hair before with varying results. I have good days and bad days here at the nest. Sometimes my DIY experiments work out well and sometimes not so much. Poor kid right? What kind of mother haphazardly chops her daughter’s hair? Um…me? The kind of mom who likes to save money and do things herself.
Let’s just say I wasn’t happy with the initial results of the haircut. It was uneven and I her hair flipped out really weird. I tried styling it with a flat iron and curling the ends under. It looked okay but it would be a pain to have to curl your kids hair every morning. So I did what every stressed out DIYer would do. I googled, “How to cut girl’s hair”. I guess I’m not the only mother trying to save a buck or two because this polished YouTube video had exactly what I was looking for.
After watching this informative video, I was able to fix up my baby’s hair. She loves her new look and now I can add hairstylist to my ever expanding job description!
