Project Pay it Forward
Gift #2: Crochet Headband
Last Saturday, I discovered a great tutorial on how to crochet a simple headband with a sliding flower. Upon discovering how easy the pattern is to follow, it is safe for me to say that I’m completely hooked - I’ve already made three of these adorable bands. Two are for my daughters and this lovely brown and pink accessory is for my friend Marlene a.k.a Pay it Forward recipient #2!
I really had no clue what to make for Marlene because she is a super talented crafter AND she has a design background to boot! Check out Mar’s blog GiggleStuff and you’ll get what I’m talking about. Feeling a little bit intimidated, I decided to bend the rules of the project and make something for Marlene’s daughter instead.
My yarn is a little bit on the thick side so I decided to go with a single crochet stitch rather than half double when working the band portion. The end result is a thinner headband which is perfect for Mar’s little girl who happens to be less than a month younger than my Olivia.
I hope you enjoy the gift Marlene!
Stay tuned for Pay it Forward Gift #3…a little bit of bling for Anna.
Happy Crafting Everyone!
